This post is in the same series or will be in the same connotation with my earlier post "the boy who shook hands with sachin". I am gonna talk about Outsourcing not the Business outsourcing but the Memory outsourcing we all have been doing.
Let me explain, remember those days when we were kids, we used to recall our parents mobile number or one of those landline phones we had, those special days(birthdays) of closed ones by heart. Now how many of us do it. If your reaction is "Oh! thats on my phone", then YOU are outsourcing .
I want you to remember the last crazy thing you did, that adventurous trip you had been to, or something awesome you saw, were you taking pictures? Video taping it? But why? Oh yeah we want to get likes on facebook. On a serious note we want to cherish the moment later so we take pictures. Are we even living in the moment to enjoy it later?
What did our earlier generations do?Don't you think they ever had such experiences? Where did they store the memory? They LIVED the moment, enjoyed it, took the memory and placed carefully in the brain. When they wanted to go relive the moments, they went back to the specific place they stored and cherished it. What are we doing? Going to mobiles and laptops to cherish them cause they have been outsourced and our brains are busy on facebook.
I want to tell you a story here, I was karting for the first time. I got so excited that I ended up video taping the whole experience. When I saw the video later, I wasn't as exhilarated as before, no goose bumps. Why? Then it stuck me that I wasn't even enjoying the experience but looking at the camera all the time. Only when you live in the moment you can cherish it later. All I want to say is LIVE in the moment not on your laptops or mobiles.
